6 Advantages of Studying MBBS Abroad for Indian Students

The medical profession is highly attractive and rewarding in India. The aim of all students of 12 class, who opt Physics, Chemistry and Biology, is to study MBBS. The two professions - medical and engineering- are most cherished in every Indian family. All parents in India first desire to train their children to become engineers and doctors.
But to become a doctor in India is also very difficult due to the limitation of seats in Medical Colleges.

There are 50000 seats in Medical Colleges. The NEET, AIPMT or other private medical colleges hold entrance examination for admission to MBBS and BDS courses. More than 1000000 (Ten Lakh) students appear at the entrance examination. Only 2 percent of students qualify for NEET exam and 3 percent qualify for other entrance examination. In total, approximately 5 percent students qualify for admission to the medical colleges. But it does not mean the way for the rest 95 per cent students, who have aptitude and interest to pursue, medical education is not closed. There is ample chance for them also to pursue MBBS course abroad at much less expense than what they could do from private Indian medical colleges as most of them charge heavy amount of money as donation or capitation fee at the time of admission.

Most of the middle-class families cannot afford this heavy amount of money. But when they can pursue MBBS course at much less expense and get the high standard of education, why would they not go abroad without giving any second thought. The fee structure abroad is very reasonable and low. One thing that also goes in favour of doing the medical course from the University of Russia, Philippines, Ukrain, Singapore, Malaysia, Bangladesh etc. is the attraction of studying abroad. It is also a significant factor that there is increasing attraction for foreign universities among the Indian students across the stream.

Studying MBBS is a dream for most of the students in India. From childhood, parents, teachers and influential people in Indian society recommend studying either engineering or medicine. If there are two children in a household, the chances are one will be an engineer and the other will be a doctor. This is the dream of most of the Indian parents. Although engineering seats have increased drastically over the years, this is not the case with MBBS.
1. No Entrance Exam for Admission
It is a fact that entrance examination for admission to medical colleges in MBBS or BDS courses has proved to be a hurdle for the students. It is not necessary that those students, who have failed to clear the entrance exam, are not intelligent. They may have not qualified for one reason or the other, but that does not mean that they have no aptitude for the medical profession. They are still aspiring to pursue the medical education. But they cannot do only because they have failed to clear the entrance exam in India.
They must not lose confidence. They can study MBBS course from the universities of Russia,
Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, China, Bangladesh, Singapore, Malaysia etc. as they would not have to face entrance examination for admission there. It goes in the favour of a majority of the Indian medical students that there is no entrance exam for admission abroad.

No donation or capitation fee is charged for admission to medical colleges abroad. However, donation or capitation fee is a must in Indian private medical colleges. These colleges are virtually run to fleece money from those students who come for admission. They charge huge amount as donation fee. Here, only money matters whereas in universities abroad no donation fee is charged. The parents of the students feel much relieved by admitting their children abroad to pursue the medical education. Most of the MBBS colleges in China, Russia, Ukraine etc. have no donation or capitation fee. Even the tuition fee is very low in comparison to the Indian private colleges ranging from Rs. 2.5 Lakhs to Rs. 4.5 Lakhs every year.
