Realize your dream of becoming Doctor through IPMST

To become a doctor is not only the dream of the student but also his /her parents. When they find that to send their wards for studying MBBS private medical colleges in India is unaffordable for them, they look for option abroad. When there is an opportunity of studying MBBS abroad by qualifying the International Pre-medical Scholarship Test (IPMST), the medical aspirants need not lose their heart.

Let us consider the position of Studying MBBS in India through NEET:
There are around 66,000 MBBS seats available across the country whereas 13.37 lakh students appeared at NEET  examination 2018.This means, every year, only 4% of the students aspiring to become a doctor will achieve their goals.
There are about 335 medical colleges in India out of which 181 are private institutions and 154 are government run institutes.

Most of the private institutes have a capitation fee ranging from 15 to 20 lakhs with a yearly fee of 4 to 5 lakhs. It is difficult for any middle class family to bear the expense on medical education of their sons/daughters. Medical aspirants can now study MBBS abroad to realize their dreams of becoming doctors. It is natural for students and parents to be apprehensive about MBBS admission in abroad. But, world has become a global village now. Studying MBBS in abroad has become easier and comfortable than ever before.

5 following advantages for medical aspirants of studying abroad:

1. No Entrance Examination for admission
There is no entrance examination for admission abroad in the countries such as Russia, China, Bangladesh, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Malaysia, Singapore and Philippines. The medical aspirants are relieved of hurdles at the entry point itself. Admission is primarily based on the performance in 12th standard and first come first basis. The students who have secured more than 75% in their 12th standard are preferred.

 2. No Donation or Capitation Fee
It is usual in India that private medical college’s demand donation or capitation fee at the time of admission itself. This is excluding the regular yearly fee.  This is not the case for colleges or universities abroad. Most of the MBBS colleges in China, Russia, and Ukraine etc. have no donation or capitation fee. Even the tuition fee is very low in comparison to the private colleges in India ranging from Rs. 2.5 Lakhs to Rs. 4.5 Lakhs every year.

 3. Very Low Cost of Living
The issue of the cost of living abroad for studying MBBS haunts every aspirant and his parent. They think if they would be able to afford it.  But the cost of living in all these foreign countries is relatively cheap. Studying MBBS in Ukraine for Indian students will be quite cheap as most of the students can survive with as low as $100 and $200 per month. Even when studying in Asian countries like China, living cost will be as low as Rs. 7000 to Rs. 14,000 per month. Understandably, this also largely depends on student’s lifestyle.

4. Global Exposure
Indian students get international exposure. They mingle with the students across the world and meet fellow students who are also from different countries, backgrounds and ethnicity. Countries like China also have huge population which provides a great opportunity for medical students to get exposed to large patient inflow.

5. World Class Infrastructure

Indian students get there world class infrastructure. The university campuses across the eight countries such as Russia, China, Bangladesh, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Malaysia, Singapore and Philippines are of world class structure with modern equipment in hospitals. For example, Studying MBBS in Ukraine is very beneficial for medical students as most of the universities there are of high standard and globally recognized by WHO, UNESCO, European Council etc.

Why do more and more Students want to Study MBBS Abroad in Kyrgyzstan?

The reason behind growing attraction among Indian students to go abroad for studying MBBS in Kyrgyzstan is low fee structure, low expense on accommodation, high standard of education, no entrance test for admission and safe and secure environment. It is because of these advantages that Kyrgyzstan has emerged as the preferred destination for Indian students to study MBBS.

Majority of the students who fail to qualify NEET Exam in India go abroad to study MBBS in the universities of Kyrgyzstan. The major reasons behind the preference of Indian students to go there are ‘High-Quality Medical Education by MCI recognized and WHO listed institution’ at ‘Most Affordable Prices’. Economic factor also matters most, including high standard of medical education behind the increasing number of Indian medical aspirants moving to Kyrgyzstan to study MBBS year by year.

The lowest medical programme there so far as expense is concerned starts from 12 lakhs (inclusive of accommodation charges, mess, etc.), while the same education in India will cost about 45 Lakhs. The added advantage that Indian students avail is that the percentage of those who have studied from the universities of Kyrgyzstan and have cleared the MCI screening test after coming back to India is very high and appreciative. This is the proof of high standard of medical education being imparted to students in Kyrgyzstan.

1. Kyrgyzstan State Medical Academy is one of the oldest universities in Central Asia.

2. 6 MCI recognized and WHO listed medical universities.

3. MBBS course duration 6 years.

MBBS in Russia vs. MBBS in India

Pursuing Medical education in India is very tough. First of all, the medical aspirants in India will have to clear the medical entrance examination like NEET, which is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), to pursue medical education.

Fewer Seats, more Aspirants
Medical seats are few and the number of aspirants is innumerable. NEET has 66 000 medical seats for 13 lakh and 36 thousand medical aspirants who are going to appear at it this year. It means only 4 out 100 will get medical seats for admission to colleges in MBBS/BDS courses.

Although the fee structure of govt. medical college is not high in India, all cannot take admission in govt. medical colleges. As far as the issue of admission in private medical colleges in India is concerned, the capitation or donation fee is very high. It is between Rs. 15 lakh to 20 lakh depending on the college. So, it is not affordable for most of the middle class families in India to send their wards to private medical colleges to pursue medical education.

Don’t be disheartened
But the medical aspirants needn’t be disheartened. They can get ample opportunity to study MBBS abroad in countries like Russia, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Philippines, China, Malaysia, Singapore, and Bangladesh. There is no entrance examination and donation or capitation fee for studying MBBS in medical universities of these countries. As far as the quality of medical education there is concerned, it is of world class. Almost all medical universities have recognition from international medical bodies like WHO and UNESCO.

Pursuing Medical Study in Russia has always been the choice of Indian students. Russia is ahead in the field of education, specifically in medicine. So instead of paying a huge amount as the capitation fees in India, aspirants can choose a good reputed University in Russia.

Studying MBBS in India vs Abroad, Which is better?

It is not possible for every medical aspirant to pursue medical education in India. There are two reasons behind it. One, students can get admission to govt. medical colleges only after qualifying anyone of the medical entrance examinations - NEET, AIMPT, AIIMS, and JIMPER. Two, as far as the question of Private medical college in India is concerned; its fee is so high that it is impossible for most of the parents to afford. There is also entrance exam conducted by the private medical colleges for admission, though nominal. Medical aspirants are to qualify it to be able to get admission. But there is no entrance test abroad and the quality of education is of global standard. The fee structure is also low abroad. So the most of the middle-class students can also afford the fees. In this way doing MBBS course abroad is a better option.

Even if the students get admission in Indian private colleges, there is a great difference between the qualities of education here in India and abroad. India is still a developing country while western countries are well developed and far more advanced in almost all spheres of life. Though the cost of living of the students in the hostel is low in India, the quality of education is not up to the mark like abroad. When it comes to mind whether to pursue medical education in India or abroad, the choice goes in favor of abroad.

Private colleges in India charge very high fee along with a donation for admission. So, it is very expensive to do MBBS course in India. In completing the MBBS course, generally, five and half years of time are taken. So if you put the idea of doing MBBS from Indian private medical college to comparison with colleges in foreign countries, it is apparently crystal clear that the latter option is cheaper.

When the Indian medical aspirants go abroad for studying MBBS, they come in contact with the students from different countries of the world. They interact among themselves about the medical education in their respective countries. In this way, they get exposed to the outside world also. Their vision broadens and knowledge widens. By studying in the native land, students fail to come in contact with the students and teachers of different countries.

As India is a very big country in terms of population, the availability of medical seats in the colleges is limited. Only a little more than 50 thousand students can take admission to medical colleges. It cannot exceed more than that. So, the seats in Indian private medical colleges are also filled up very quickly. In the given situation, only one option is left with the medical aspirants. It is to go abroad for admission to study MBBS as there is neither seat constraint there nor entrance examination for admission in foreign countries. So, it is better to do MBBS abroad than in India if the medical aspirants fail to clear NEET or AIMPT. So they needn't get disheartened and admitted to medical college abroad.
